Project: Happy Meal Readers

Teaming up with publishing partner Hachette and child development specialists. We explored how technology could elevate a child’s natural reading style of speaking words aloud, so it made sense to leverage voice recognition.

Stories unfolds as kids read aloud, and is designed to adapt to their reading speed. Our research showed, lots of kids learn to read by following words with their finger, so we created a touch-driven mechanic to support this too.

Released January 2019, it’s available in 43 languages, across 81 countries and in 3 months, over a quarter of a million kids have read a digital story.
