Airbnb.org Shows What ‘Home’ Means After Disaster
Home Lives On

As wildfires, floods, and other climate disasters grow more frequent and severe, the need for humanitarian aid grows along with it. To help the displaced victims of these disasters, Airbnb.org was formed, a network of homes on the rental platform that offer shelter when all seems lost.
This nonprofit arm of Airbnb was scaling up its emergency response efforts. To support that push, it launched its most ambitious campaign yet: a series of films designed to show what “home” still means, even after everything else is gone.
“Home Lives On” depicts three true stories of actual families who were displaced by disasters and relocated into Airbnb.org homes. Offering a glimpse into how emergency housing can be more than shelter—it can offer stability, dignity, and even moments of joy.
